Today’s episode is such a special one for us as we visit and learn about the incredible 70-year legacy that continues on at Shore Community Services. Shore’s program provides critical education, support, and training to persons with intellectual and other developmental disabilities – most of whom have aged out of the programs aimed for children and were left with nowhere to go. They offer all kinds of programs that build the skills needed to be part of the workforce and the tools to be more confident and independent. Board member Meridith Adams and CEO Alexis Alm talk about how they strive to fulfill the company vision of creating opportunities for these individuals to reach their full potential, and we discuss what it takes to run such a unique 501c and what they can do to boost their impact.
